Hi! My name is Donski and I’m the developer and creator of Project Badlight.
I graduated from college with an ACS in 3D Modelling, Animation, Art & Design for games. Shortly after, I started working full-time as an FQA Tester for games.
I live in Canada and have been been working solo in Unreal Engine for over 3 years now, and I feel like I’m ready to put this out to the world!
Currently, I’m the only developer on this project. If the project gains financial traction, I plan on employing contractors to vastly increase development speed in areas such as Art, Animation, and Sound. -
This project has been designed from the ground up to support 4-player co-op servers, so yes!
Multiplayer networking uses Steam’s Online Subsystem to facilitate the creation of P2P servers. -
Unfortunately, Project Badlight will not feature Mod Support.
-
As a game, Project Badlight will be based entirely on a premium purchase model where the game is bought once and you can keep it forever without additional fees.
In the future, the goal is to create additional income sources around the game, such as media production, merch and everything that supports the game's brand value.
-
The exact cost is yet to be determined, but the full game will be around the $20 USD area.
In addition, there will be a supporter edition of the game that includes various extras such as the OST and game art. -
You can support the project in multiple ways, most of them are simple and free.
The most effective method would be spreading the word about this project to a fellow roguelite enthusiast or just by sharing Project Badlight content.
Wishlisting the game on Steam also helps a lot in terms of visibility and it brings many benefits to the development.
If you want to support this project financially and get access behind the scenes, the project also has an active Patreon, which is updated weekly with new content.
